Effective with the 2023-24 fiscal year, the College’s fiscal year will begin on July 1 and conclude on June 30.

According to College policy, eligible staff earn sick, vacation, personal time and floating holidays over the course of the year, and unused accrued time in excess of allowable carryover limits are forfeited at the end of each fiscal year.

In an effort to make this change without impacting staff during the transitional year, the College has decided that all leave accruals that were due to be forfeited on May 31, 2023 will continue to be available for use through June 30, 2023.  The College also will increase the allowable carryover for sick and vacation time at the end of June, to permit staff to carry forward any time that was earned in June and not used during the month. This will allow staff to use the time that they earn in June during the 2023-24 fiscal year. 

At the conclusion of the 2023-24 fiscal year (June 30, 2024), the allowable carry over limits for sick and vacation time will be reset to the College’s regular policy.

Additionally, staff will be credited with their fiscal year 2023-24 personal days and floating holidays, on June 1, 2023, which will be available for use through June 30, 2024. Staff will also receive prorated personal time and floating holiday time to account for the additional month being added for this year, as detailed in the chart below.  This time will be available for use between June 1 2023 and June 30, 2024.

This policy is for the College's non-union employees.   Campus Safety and Maintenance staff should consult with their supervisors and/or union delegates.

*Note: This time will be available from June 1, 2023 – June 30, 2024, along with the regular credited floating holiday and personal leave for the fiscal year.

**Note: 9- & -10 month full-time staff receive 5 personal days in lieu of vacation time.
