All Counseling & Psychological services for Fall 2023 will start with a Tele-Health consulation appointment which can be scheduled on the Patient Portal.

Sarah Lawrence College Counseling & Psychological Services practitioners are trained to work with a diverse range of issues and can help you identify your treatment goals. Our staff are generalists and well equipped at treating the diverse needs of undergraduate and graduate students. We routinely treat students for depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and other psychological concerns. Our staff includes licensed psychologists, clinical social workers, and a part-time psychiatrist.

All services begin with an initial 30 minute tele-health consultation where you will have a chance to talk about the concerns you wish to address. Based on the information presented, you and the therapist will decide upon a treatment plan. Treatment plans may include on-campus care, off campus referrals, or a combination of the two. (Click here to schedule an initial 30 minute consultation).

On-Campus Care: On campus care begins with a tele-health consultation. During this consultation you and your provider will determine your next steps which may include:

Intake appointment-A thorough evaluation with a clinician to gather historical and current information regarding your presenting concerns.

Individual psychotherapy sessions -Short term counseling to develop effective coping strategies, clarify issues, and work towards making positive changes in your life. (up to six individual sessions per academic year). We are a hybrid model and partner with Mantra Health for teletherapy sessions.

Group therapy sessions- A weekly opportunity to meet with students struggling with similar challenges. Our groups are facilitated by a clinician and provide a confidential space to gain support, healing, and perspective (unlimited sessions per academic year). Dates and times are determined each semester.

Let's Talk- Drop-in for a 20-minute solution oriented support session with a Health & Wellness Therapist. Our therapists are available for all students for brief clinical support to provide feedback and problem solving. "Let's Talk" is offered on Tuesdays 1-2:30 pm in the BWCC.  This is not a substitute for therapy and is not for urgent mental health crisis needs.

Medication Management- is ONLY available during the academic year (September - May)

A part-time psychiatrist is available for short-term medication management, consultations, and evaluations. Students must have an initial consult with a staff psychotherapist prior to meeting with the psychiatrist as well as be engaged in ongoing therapy. Medication Management for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder:

Students requesting ADHD medication refills must follow the  process below. Please plan accordingly in ensuring ongoing access to your medication prior to arrival on campus.  REFILLS for stimulant medication will NOT be provided prior to the completion of our assessment process. Reach out to your current/most recent prescribing physician for continuing care or prescription refills until your consultation has been completed, and approved, at SLC Health & Wellness Center.

  1. If you have previously been diagnosed with ADHD and would like to be considered for short-term medication management on campus (with an ultimate referral off-campus), please submit the ADHD Medication Management Form along with appropriate supporting documentation (examples include: neuropsychological testing, sufficient and long-standing notes supporting diagnosis, etc.).
  2. Students that have never been diagnosed, but would like to be evaluated for ADHD can make a telehealth consult to discuss their concerns and a referral for off-campus testing. CAPS does not provide ADHD testing and diagnosis.
