Graduating students may wish to invite family or friends from outside the U.S. to attend, and the following information may be useful in helping them obtain visas.
Determine if the individuals are eligible to enter the U.S. through the Visa Waiver Program (ESTA), details available here https://www.cbp.gov/travel/international-visitors/esta.
If not eligible via ESTA, and a B2 visitor visa is needed (see https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/VisaFlyer_B1B2%20March%202015.pdf for details), students can request a letter from the College, which may assist in obtaining the visa. To request a letter, please email the Registrar's Office at regoff@sarahlawrence.edu with the following information:
- Student full name
- Student ID number
- Names of your guests exactly as appearing on their passports
- Approximate dates of entry into and departure from the U.S.
- City and country where they will apply for the visa
