Help

At this point in time, we understand that some international students may have questions or concerns. We want to assure you that there are no changes in the regulations now for current processes, travel, or enrollment. Here are some points to consider if you travel out of the U.S.:

  • Non-U.S. citizens should be well-informed and aware of any current laws or executive orders prior to leaving the United States. Students should be conscious that new executive orders could be executed while they are out of the country, which could change the person's ability to return to the U.S.
  • Non-U.S. citizens with a history of having visited Iran, Syria, Sudan, Somalia, Libya, or Yemen should anticipate the possibility of increased scrutiny during their travel. This scrutiny could include secondary inspection (an interview) before being permitted to return to the U.S.  It is recommended that visa-holders with histories of travel to the seven countries should exercise caution when deciding to travel abroad at this time.
  • An F-1 student who is detained at a port of entry should contact their DSO. If outside of normal business hours, please call Security (914-395-2222) and ask to be in contact with your DSO. As always, please make sure that you have a valid passport (valid six months into the future), valid student visa (make sure to renew if necessary), and your current I-20 with valid signature from DSO (Registrar's office or Todd Pettiford, some students may still have Shirley Be's signature). We know you may have questions, though, and please know that we are here to help you. Please feel free to email or drop by our offices if you'd like.

Warm regards,
