2020-2021 Housing Selection Timeline

Due to the uncertainty associated with the ongoing public health crisis, Sarah Lawrence College will announce on or before July 1, 2020, the prospect of on-campus housing for the start of the fall 2020 semester.

For incoming First Year (class of 2024) and Transfer students: at this time, we are moving forward with accepting your submissions of the housing questionnaire for the 2020-2021 academic year. Welcome to SLC!

 

Monday, March 2: $250 prepayment DUE, must be in good financial standing with the College;  Deadline to be approved for return from Medical Leave; Deadline to make corrections to Class Year in the Registrar's Office

Friday, March 6: Students who are not eligible for on-campus housing were notified via email; please check your email for information that was shared.

Monday, March 9: Deadline to submit requests for Specialized Housing.

April 6 and 7:  Group petition results emailed to the group leaders. 

Wednesday, April 8: Lottery Numbers Posted to MySLC on the Students tab.

Friday, April 17, 2:30pm - 4:00pm EST: (OPTIONAL) Lottery Information Sessions via Zoom for students approved for Specialized Housing (starts at 2:30pm) and for rising SENIORS (starts at 3:30pm). Instructions will be emailed to students who are approved for Specialized Housing and for rising seniors.

Ongoing: If you cannot participate in your class lottery time you must submit a proxy form. Proxy forms due via MySLC.

Monday, April 20, 4pm EST: Specialized Housing Selection via Zoom and Google Docs, instructions will be emailed to students who were approved by Polly Waldman for Specialized Housing.

May 26 to 31: Rising SENIORS Lottery via Zoom - detailed instructions with your date and time to select your room will be emailed to you. 

POSTPONED: Rising JUNIORS Lottery via Zoom -  dates will be sent to you via email after the Seniors lottery is completed.

POSTPONED: Rising SOPHOMORES Lottery via Zoom - dates will be sent to you via email after the Juniors lottery is completed.  

June 14th at 11:30am EST: (OPTIONAL) Find a Roommate Party. If you need one roommate for a double or two roommates for a triple, you can attend this party to find roommates.  This party will be hosted by RAs and Hall Directors.  We encourage you to post and participate in our Roommate Finder Forum to find a roommate ASAP.

POSTPONED: Last Chance Lottery for individuals without a roommate and those who missed their class lottery night selection; only students with a lottery number can participate in this event.  

July 1: The Non-Guaranteed Wait-list form can be completed by upper-class students who did not receive a lottery number; students signing up on this list are strongly encouraged to secure off-campus housing.  If your study abroad program was cancelled or you did not submit the housing pre-payment or you were not in good financial standing with the College by March 2nd, but you would like to be considered for on-campus housing for Fall 2020 you will need to complete the Non-Guaranteed Wait-list form when it opens. If you are selected from this list, you will not be able to choose the room you are offered or your roommates.  You will have 1 business day to decide to accept or decline the space that is available and offered to you. Please post and participate in the Classifieds on MySLC to find housing and roommates off-campus.  The Classifieds are not owned, managed, or updated by the Office of Residence Life.

Friday, July 24: Students on the Non-Guaranteed Waitlist will be notified if they will be assigned a room on-campus.

*The $250 pre-payment is mandatory for all students. Any student who did not pay the $250 pre-payment or was not in good financial standing with the College on March 2nd, did not receive a lottery number and will not be able to participate in the housing selection process for the 2020-2021 academic year.

 

Eligibility

All undergraduate Sarah Lawrence students who intend to be enrolled full-time at Sarah Lawrence during the fall 2020 semester are eligible to participate in the housing lottery. Students must also pay any outstanding financial balances to the College by March 2, 2020.

Students currently on leave should confirm their status with the Dean of Studies and the Registrar and refer to the information in the Returning from Leave tab.
