COMPLIANCE

Successful implementation of the Smoke-Free Policy will require the cooperation of the entire Sarah Lawrence College community. Employees and students are expected to courteously remind anyone violating the policy that Sarah Lawrence College prohibits smoking on College property. The success of this policy relies on the thoughtfulness, consideration, and cooperation of smokers and nonsmokers. All members of the College community share the responsibility of adhering to and enforcing the policy and have the responsibility of bringing it to the attention of visitors. Noncompliance and/or complaints should be brought to the attention of the appropriate College administrator. Student noncompliance can be reported to the Office of Student Affairs. Employee noncompliance can be reported to the Office of Human Resources.

Noncompliance with this policy is defined as smoking any product, including e-cigarettes.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU SEE SOMEONE WHO IS NOT COMPLYING WITH THE SMOKE-FREE POLICY

Kindly inform them that if they would like to smoke they will need to move to an off-campus location. If the person disregards your request for compliance with the Smoke-Free Policy, you are encouraged to inform an appropriate College administrator.
