Students who test positive for COVID-19 are no longer required to report the positive test result. You are asked to self-isolate, staying out of classes and public spaces until symptoms are improving overall and you are fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication (Tylenol, Ibuprofen etc.).
Anyone experiencing respiratory symptoms including a cough, sneezing and/or sore throat is asked to utilize precautions (mask wearing, cough etiquette, proper tissue disposal, wash hands, disinfect frequently touched surfaces) to reduce spreading a virus.
The medical staff at Health & Wellness will continue to evaluate and treat students who are symptomatic. We encourage students to make an appointment for early diagnosis and treatment.
What to do if:
You have symptoms Mon.-Fri. 9 a.m. -5 p.m. Schedule an appointment with a medical provider at the SLC Health & Wellness Center or call the Center at 914-395-2350 and request to speak with a medical provider.
You test positive Mon.-Fri. 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Call the Health & Wellness Center (914) 395-2209 for guidance on self care and management of symptoms.
You test positive after 5 p.m. or on weekends: Employ self-care to manage symptoms. If symptoms require medical care, contact Campus Safety for transport to a local urgent care center or the emergency room or check the back of your health insurance card for access to a telehealth service.
BE PREPARED:
All students should be prepared with the following supplies: Purchase rapid at-home COVID antigen tests at local pharmacies, grocery/convenient stores or on-line, N95 or KN95 masks, thermometer, cough drops, Advil, Tylenol, Cold tablets, salt for gargling, water bottles, electrolyte drinks, light snacks, disinfectant wipes and at least a week supply of any prescribed medication.
