What is the Subcommittee & what do they do?

During the 2019 Fall semester, the Sexual Violence Awareness (SeVA) Subcommittee that functions under the Committee on Student Life will meet every Monday from 5:00pm-6:00pm in the Barbara Walters Center Reading Room.

The subcommittee is an open subcommittee that encourages the participation of all members of the SLC community, including faculty, staff, and students. All community members who wish to weigh in on educational initiatives/programming or voice concerns about campus attitudes towards Title IX and sexual violence are welcome to join us!

SeVA Programming Board

The Sexual Violence Awareness (SeVA) Programming Board at Sarah Lawrence College is committed to engaging the community in open conversation around the issues of sexual harassment, sexual assault, domestic/dating violence, and stalking and the Title IX policies that surround them. Members of SeVA Programming Board will operate within the Office of Equity and Inclusion, under the guidance of the Title IX Investigator, and will serve within a leadership capacity for the Student Life Subcommittee on Sexual Violence Awareness & Education.

Throughout the academic year, SeVA Programming Board will be the student leaders for the Subcommittee on Sexual Violence Awareness & Education and will proactively aid the Office of Equity and Inclusion on programming initiatives for campus awareness of sexual violence, affirmative consent, and bystander intervention.
