1919: The Semana Tragica

The Semana Tragica: Workers , Migrants and Conflicts in Post-War Argentina, 1919: A Talk by Jorge Nallim

This talk discussed the transformations in Argentina’s export economy, political system, and trans-national society that led to those conflicts as well as how the Semana Trágica impacted post-War Argentina.

Jorge Nállim is Assistant Professor of History at the University of Manitoba, where he teaches Latin American and world history. His research interests focuses on twentieth-century Argentine and Latin American history.  Nállim is also the co-founder, member, and coordinator of UofM’s Interdisciplinary Research Cluster on Power and Resistance in Latin America.
