There are two men in Espanola NM (aka my home town) who are actively working to make a change with art. They run a program for young kids that gives them an outlet to express themselves in a way that would otherwise never be on option for a myriad of reasons. Moving Arts was started as a way to enhance kids lives in some way and from what I can see they are truely making a difference in the community around them.
I ran in to Roger and Sal in a cafe one afternoon over spring break and persuaded them to answer a few questions fro me about what they do and why they do it. They were happy to talk and it was a lovely little impromptu lunch meeting/interview with them.
Look forward to a future post wherein I reveal the contents of that interview, hopefully in a fun, witty, and enjoyable fashion.
