MySLC Documentation: Context Manager
What is a Context?
A context is a section or a container for pages in MySLC. Contexts contain pages (see Pages, Portlets, and Layout: What is a Page?) and pages contain portlets (see Pages, Portlets, and Layout: What is a Portlet?).
- The name of the current context is located at the top of the left navigation menu in black writing.
- The name of the current context and its parent contexts appear in the "You are here:" navigation under the MySLC header.
Examples of Contexts
- The tabs at the top of MySLC link to top-level contexts such as "Home", "Academics", "Campus Life" etc.

- Campus Groups are specific types of contexts that live under the Campus Life context/tab.
- Courses are specific types of contexts that live under the Academics context/tab.

- Some contexts contain subcontexts, also known as Sub-Sections. Links to Sub-Sections are located below the page links in the navigation menu and are also identifiable by the folder icon next to the link.
