MySLC Documentation: Course Navigation
Navigating to Courses Using "Course Search"
If you want to locate a course not in your "Quick Links" you can also use "Course Search". This feature allows you to input information about a course and then search all of MySLC for that individual course page.
- Click on the "Academics" tab located at the top right side of the page.
- On the "Academics" page, locate the Course Search portlet on the right side of the page.
- Within the Course Search portlet are four text fields: "Course Title", "Course Code", "Faculty Last Name", and "Course Description". To locate a specific course enter the course information into these fields. Not all text fields need to be filled out to locate a course. Entering information into just one or two fields is the fastest and easiest way of using the Course Search portlet.
- Below the four text fields is the "Term" menu that allows you to select what term you wish to search for the course in. The default selection is the current term. To select a different term click on the menu and a drop-down list will appear. Select the term you want.
- Below the "Term" menu is the "Show Course Descriptions" checkbox. Course Descriptions are not currently available so leave this box unchecked.
- Once you have entered the course information click the "Search" button to locate the course.
- A page with a list of courses will load. Locate your desired course, and click the course link to go to the individual course page.
